About The Position

ALT 98.7 is in search of part time on-air talent! We’re looking for a passionate alternative music fan who can creatively share their love for the format with our growing Detroit audience in the studio, through social media and in the community.

Requirements

• Must have a thorough understanding of the alternative format, audience and lifestyle
• Must be an excellent communicator and collaborator with a strong work ethic
• Must have a working knowledge of the equipment and technical systems necessary for on-air execution, including automation systems such as Wide Orbit
• A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and proof of insurance if using own vehicle is required
• Must have knowledge of FCC rules and regulations

Nice To Haves

• Experience with on-air and/or digital content creation preferred
• Familiarity with the Detroit local music scene and concert venues a plus

Responsibilities

• Host weekend/fill-in air shifts on ALT 98.7, Detroit’s Alternative Rock
• Engage with fans at ALT 98.7 events, sales appearances and remote broadcasts
• Create content for station socials, focusing on both alternative music and Detroit
• Protect the station’s FCC license
• Monitor the music and commercial logs for the airshift
• Ensure that promotions and contests are executed properly
• Other duties as required by management
