About The Position

ALT 98.7 is looking for a creative, curious and collaborative talent to join our full-time air staff! We’re in search of an engaging performer on air, online and in person to fill this Detroit-based position.

Requirements

Must have a thorough understanding of the alternative format, audience and lifestyle
Must be an excellent communicator and collaborator with a strong work ethic
Should have a working knowledge of the equipment and technical systems necessary for on-air execution, including automation systems such as Wide Orbit
Must have knowledge of FCC rules and regulations
A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicants own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required

Nice To Haves

On-air experience in either the alternative or rock radio formats preferred
Experience with music scheduling and/or audio production a plus

Responsibilities

Create compelling, original content on air for ALT 98.7, Detroit’s Alternative Rock
Engage with fans at ALT 98.7 events, sales appearances and remote broadcasts
Create content for station socials that enhances both your brand and the station’s brand
Protect the station’s FCC license
Monitor the music and commercial logs for the airshift
Ensure that promotions and contests are executed properly
Other duties as required by management
