About The Position

EthosEnergy is currently seeking an OMT - Operations & Maintenance Technician for our Wellsville, Ohio facility. South Field Energy is a 1180MW facility in a 2 block combined cycle configuration using GE 7HA.02 gas turbines. Each block is in 1 x 1 multi-shaft configuration. The OMT is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the power facility while assigned on shift or while assigned to the maintenance team. These responsibilities include, but is not limited to Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generator, air compressors, water treatment equipment, demineralizers, motors, pumps, fire suppression systems, brine concentrators, and all other balance of plant auxiliary equipment. Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees, contractors, and public safety.

Requirements

• Demonstrates knowledge of all facets of power plant operations.
• Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
• Capable of writing operating procedures, work requests, written records.
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's.
• Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge is required.
• Adept at troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with mechanical equipment.
• Proficient at repairing, replacing, dismantling and inspecting defective plant equipment and parts.
• Capable of operating welding and cutting equipment and completes metal fabrication projects.
• Proficient at Water Chemistry.
• Capable of setting up and operating a drill press, pipe threading machine, grinder and other various tools.

Nice To Haves

• Two (02) to Four (04) years related power plant or industry experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of advanced technology combustion turbines and steam turbines.
• Power Plant Control Room Operator experience.
• Experience with General Electric (GE) MARK VIe DCS (Control System).

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Performs Inspection of Watch (IOW), surveillance rounds, on each system within the plant.
• Competently operates and maintains the Combined Cycle electric power generating Facility equipment.
• Inspects, adjusts, and controls all power production, auxiliary and Facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Performs water chemistry analysis on HRSG, Auxiliary Boiler and Water Treatment.
• Operates demineralized water system in accordance with OEM specifications and plant procedures.
• Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, replacing valve packing, gaskets, filters, valves, and gauges.
• Identifies and resolves Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) problems.
• Performs general housekeeping and cleaning responsibilities.
• Communicates effectively and accurately, using both oral and written methods of communication.
• Responsible for ordering chemicals through established vendors.
• Performs Lock Out-Tag Out of Plant Systems.
• Assists with development of Operations and Maintenance procedures, and the training of Facility personnel.
• Operates heavy equipment such as forklifts.
• Maintains journals, logbooks, shift turnovers, and various other reports.
