Job Summary: This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of on-the-job training for drivers. The core objective is to ensure that all drivers who complete the OJT program have a clear and comprehensive understanding of their job expectations and duties, equipping them with the necessary training for successful job performance. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who will have frequent daily interaction with new terminal drivers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with both internal and external departments. This position also requires providing management with visibility into process oversight, highlighting successes, issues, and relevant data. Weekend work is required.

Requirements

  • 5+ plus years of Chemical bulk transportation industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of ELOGS and DOT HOS
  • Must have CDL Class A
  • Strong observation, evaluation, coaching and feedback skills
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements
  • Experience with safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of Hazmat regulations and procedures
  • Computer skills in Windows, Google and other business applications
  • Proven driver experience of 3 to 5 years or more.
  • Excellent clean driving record
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred first aid and CPR certified (will provide)
  • Some college, training certificate or degree in business or training preferred
  • 2 or more years of training experience
  • Trucking experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on OJT training that includes all physical functions of driver training and equipment training with drivers
  • Classroom OJT training that includes all driver operation field training
  • Complete OJT training paperwork and compliance.
  • Daily communication and feedback through the OJT tracker sent to terminals
  • Maintain and complete electronic driver training files for hiring terminals
