About The Position

The Oilfield Electrician position is focused on continual field maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical components in an upstream environment. The role requires knowledge of tank battery facilities and the ability to perform various electrical tasks, including troubleshooting production instrumentation and electrical components. The electrician will work on pump panels, install and repair motors, and provide field instrumentation support for process equipment. The position involves working with control circuits in PLC switches and requires a strong understanding of electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting motor starters and VFD’s/VSD's.
  • Ability to perform electrical equipment installations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary.
  • Familiar with installing, swapping, and testing single to three-phase motors.
  • Test and commission integrated and non-integrated electrical systems.
  • Ability to use megger and multimeter.
  • Use reference documentation to size conductors, overload, and short circuit protection.
  • Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Must be willing to undergo background check and driving record check.
  • Must be willing and able to pass DOT drug screening/physical.
  • A minimum of 4-year Electrician experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2-years Upstream experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman’s Electrician License Preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Continual field maintenance and troubleshooting of circuit breakers, limit switches, overload relays, motor starters, and electrical control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot production instrumentation, electronics, and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot pump panels at a tank battery facility.
  • Install, repair, or replace 120V AC/DC motors and hydraulic and gas electrical controls.
  • Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment.
  • Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and alternative electrical parts.
  • Test electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
