GENERAL DESCRIPTION The crane oiler works for the crane operator and Wells Foreman when on the job. The oiler is responsible to for cleaning, lubricating, maintaining and the crane. The oiler is also responsible in helping with mechanical adjustments and repairs to ensure the crane is always in work ready and presentable conditions. The oiler will also take advantage of seat time when available to learn how to operate the crane. Salary range ($40.08-$52.39). Based on experience. WHY WORK FOR US? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Be knowledgeable in the safe operations of the crane Conduct daily visual inspection of this equipment to ensure it is in good working condition Understand rigging procedures and be knowledgeable in rigging equipment capacities Climbing up and down from this equipment and from form surfaces Be knowledgeable in Assembly and Disassembly of the crane Think outside the box to get the job done when things dont go as planned Perform maintenance on the machine and keep the machine in good working order Acts in professional manner that demonstrates the individual has good character and can be trusted by all employees Complete special projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned Understand and follow the manufactures maintenance manual for the machine he is maintaining Lubricate all moving parts as directed per the maintenance manual Operate a skid loader to help level the crane on the hoisting pad Complete special projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED High School Diploma or GED Skid loader experience OSHA 10 Must have Interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors and managers Take direction from the operator and foreman Ability to fix and diagnose mechanical problems The desire to run the crane after two years and completions of NCCCO exam Help conduct daily and monthly crane and rigging inspections Perform the job safely, effectively and timely PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently Ability to climb on loads and attach rigging and strip trailers of dunnage Ability to climb up and down the crane WORKING CONDITIONS Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements Moderate to high risk of safety precautions Moderate to high exposure to production environment Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific) Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific) This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance.
