About The Position

Houston, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Oil Free Screw Compressor Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of oil-free or flooded screw compressors. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with oil-free or flooded screw compressors.
  • Knowledge of rotary screw compressor systems.
  • Familiarity with OEM manuals, compressor diagnostics, and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems and mechanical tolerances.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, alcohol test, background check, and physical.
  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, including evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in English (read, write, speak).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. independently and 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to walk, climb, reach overhead, and balance.
  • Manual dexterity for assembly and tool usage.
  • Must not have allergies or issues with handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
  • Tolerance for moderate noise and exposure to moving mechanical parts and metal particles.

Nice To Haves

  • OEM factory training or certification from major compressor manufacturers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair oil-free or flooded screw compressors.
  • Dismantle and reassemble compressors, replacing seals, bearings, rotors, and other components as needed.
  • Perform timing of compressors during final assembly.
  • Conduct final assembly cleaning, bottle brushing, and bore scope inspections.
  • Measure and install various types of process seals.
  • Maintain accurate service records including parts used, repairs completed, and recommendations.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations as needed.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
