About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is your neighborhood go-to oil change spot, with over 35 years of experience. They pride themselves on friendly technicians, oil change expertise, and an efficient process that allows customers to stay in their cars. Take 5 is looking for friendly and energetic team members, offering a 'Pit Tech to President' growth path, with over 90% of field leaders being internal promotions. This Shop Manager role is an opportunity to showcase leadership skills within a growing team. Experience is valued but not required, with paid training provided for all new managers on Take 5's operational standards, including oil changes, wiper blade/air filter replacement, tire air fills, and other light maintenance services. Managers are expected to quickly become accountable for their team's execution of these standards. The company also offers opportunities to join as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training for those without prior experience.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Must have basic computer operating skills
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, & training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules & submit payroll
- Controlling inventory: Conduct End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
- Providing excellent customer service
