About The Position

S&ME is seeking a skilled project manager with design and permitting experience in the oil & gas market to join our Civil/Energy team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As an Oil and Gas Project Manager, you will lead multi-disciplined teams to design and permit projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients, focusing on onshore natural gas distribution and transmission systems. You will manage environmental, natural, and cultural resource assessments, various permitting processes, pipeline design, and construction plan preparation, to ensure project success by overseeing safety, risk management, quality, schedule, technical aspects, client objectives, and profitability. Effective communication and fostering a positive working environment are essential. Additionally, you will support business development to grow the company.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Additional degrees or commensurate experience will be considered.
  • 6+ years' experience, with 4+ years' experience in the onshore oil and gas industry preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience as a project manager.
  • Experience with environmental and non-environmental permitting for pipelines and pipeline facilities.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplined teams on turnkey pipeline projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with teammates and clients.
  • Excellent computer skills and well-organized.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplined teams on turnkey pipeline projects, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Oversee the overall execution of projects, including safety, risk management, quality, schedule, technical aspects, and profitability.
  • Handle environmental and non-environmental permitting processes, and design distribution and transmission pipelines, including site grading, drainage, and erosion control plans.
  • Utilize experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, stormwater, and utility modeling programs to prepare detailed construction drawings and plans.
  • Assist in business development activities to expand the company's client base and project portfolio.
