The Marketing Accounting Analyst is responsible for various oil and gas marketing accounting functions. These duties include the support in implementing and maintaining the marketing software and marketing contract database. Preparation of monthly sales invoices to multiple purchasers. Prepare and organizes revenue spreadsheets for the accounting department. Accrue and calculate monthly revenue. Provide support to management to ensure proper and timely completion of month end close and assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-5 years of Oil & Gas Revenue, Production or Marketing experience is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products, particularly Excel
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with different departments, clients, and other external contacts
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and ability to query and analyze data in the most efficient manner
  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and acute attention to detail
  • Motivated, self-directed and results-driven approach to work, also takes ownership of assigned tasks

Responsibilities

  • Support in implementation of marketing software
  • Schedule gas on various pipelines and manage pipeline imbalances
  • Prepare monthly invoices to various purchasers for crude, NGL and natural gas sales
  • Code and review transportation and gathering invoices
  • Compile gas plant statements from various areas and create revenue reconciliations for the accounting department to assist with revenue booking
  • Accrue and calculate monthly revenue on operated and non-operated assets
  • Analyze and communicate monthly pricing variances and trends
  • Prepare monthly gas balancing statements and analyze non-operated gas balancing statements
  • Assist in other projects and responsibilities as assigned by management and operations team
