About The Position

The Senior Project Analyst provides comprehensive project management, data tracking, analytical, and administrative support to the Office of Head Start (OHS) in support of mission critical federal operations. This role is responsible for ensuring effective execution of contract tasks, high quality deliverables, and transparent reporting across multiple workstreams. A core function of this position is the design, implementation, and management of Smartsheet based tracking and reporting tools to support real-time visibility into project activities, grantee data, special initiatives (including disaster recovery efforts), and leadership decision making. The Senior Project Analyst supports OHS federal staff, Regional Offices, T/TA networks and partners by transforming complex programs and operational data into actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Administration , Business, Policy, Education, Early Childhood, Management, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience providing project management and analytical support in a federal or large scale program environment.
  • 2+ years of s trong, hands on experience with Smartsheet, including sheet design, dashboards, reports, formulas, and workflow automation.
  • 2+ years of e xperience supporting HHS, ACF, OHS, or other federal human services programs.
  • US government issued security clearance (will be initiated upon hire)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.

  • Familiarity with Head Start Program Performance Standards or federal grant funded program operations.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and policy guidance.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience drafting formal policy or guidance documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with federal agencies, state systems, T/TA partners, and diverse partners in the early childhood field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage Smartsheet solutions to track programmatic, operational, and project l evel data in real time.
  • Maintain Smartsheet dashboards, reports, and automated workflows .
  • Ensure Smartsheet data is accurate , current, and aligned with federal reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal staff and partners on Smartsheet use, structure, and best practices.
  • Use Smartsheet data to identify trends, risks, and performance issues and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
  • Assist federal staff with planning, coordination, and execution of complex initiatives.
  • Support communications efforts by developing reports, summaries, and materials that translate data into clear information for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to consulting activities such as program analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning support.
  • Support special initiatives and time sensitive projects .
  • Aggregate, analyze, and disseminate data from existing government systems to identify emerging trends impacting the Office of Head Start.
  • Participate in national and regional meetings as directed by OHS .
