About The Position

The OH Mechanic B (Lineman B) position at Exelon involves constructing and maintaining overhead distribution and sub-transmission lines, as well as primary and secondary URD lines. Requirements

• Knowledge of electric distribution systems and their components.
• Satisfactory completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades Test Battery.
• Ability to meet OSHA weight restrictions for bucket trucks when wearing required tools.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Willingness to work overtime and be available for callout overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of the training program for OH Mechanic B or equivalent job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Level 1 authorization or appropriate Commercial Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead distribution and sub-transmission lines.
• Dig and backfill holes for poles and erect or relocate poles.
• Install guys, rig and frame poles, and install hardware and insulators.
• Install, transfer, or remove overhead wire and direct buried cable.
• Check circuits for continuity and phasing.
• Install, relocate, and remove distribution equipment.
• Operate light digging, backfilling, earth moving, and loading equipment.
• Climb and work from poles, aerial lifts, trees, and ladders.
• Work in substations, vaults, and trenches, including on energized conductors.
• Prepare daily time reports and associated paperwork.
• Drive distribution construction vehicles and occasionally tow trailers.
• Inspect tools periodically to ensure good operating condition.
• Set up work area protection in accordance with Company standards and OSHA regulations.
• Apply resuscitation and first aid as needed.
