The Services Specialist will utilize child welfare practice skills to ensure children are protected from abuse and neglect. When child abuse or neglect is indicated, specialists work closely with families and the legal system toward a goal of reunification, independent living, or other permanent living situation. This role is critical in safeguarding the welfare of children and involves a comprehensive understanding of child welfare laws and practices. Specialists are expected to engage with families, assess their needs, and provide necessary resources and support to facilitate a safe environment for children. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including legal entities, community organizations, and other service providers, to ensure that the best interests of the children are prioritized. The Services Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and participating in case reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and services provided. Positions are located in Ogemaw and Roscommon counties at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Offices, specifically in West Branch and Houghton Lake, MI.
