About The Position

The Offshore Construction Manager (OCM) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely execution of subsea rock installation operations onboard a specialized vessel. Acting as the senior offshore representative of the project team, the OCM ensures that all construction activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and industry standards. The OCM will report to the Project Manager and/or Project Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years offshore experience, with at least 3 in a leadership role on subsea rock installation or similar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of subsea construction techniques, vessel operations, and fall pipe systems.
  • Familiarity with DP systems, ROV operations, and offshore survey technologies.
  • Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/STCW, OEUK medical, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of safety awareness and commitment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging offshore environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and marine regulatory compliance.
  • Offshore travel, rotational assignments with active projects.
  • Work in remote, variable offshore environments.
  • Fit-for-duty and emergency response readiness required.
  • Occasional support to the project team in the office.
  • US Passport required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Operations, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience with both U.S. and international offshore energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all offshore construction activities related to subsea rock installation.
  • Ensure alignment between vessel crew, subcontractors, and onshore project team.
  • Monitor progress against schedule and proactively manage deviations and changes.
  • Uphold and enforce Company's HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with marine and environmental regulations.
  • Review and interpret installation drawings, procedures, and specifications.
  • Supervise the setup and operation of rock installation equipment (e.g., fall pipe system, ROVs, survey).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with engineering support.
  • Ensure installation accuracy and quality control through real-time monitoring and reporting.
  • Oversee survey and positioning systems to verify rock placement.
  • Maintain detailed records of installation activities and as-built data.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary offshore team including surveyors and project engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work environment.
  • Mentor junior staff and support competency development.
  • Act as the primary offshore contact for client representatives.
  • Provide regular updates and participate in coordination meetings.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
