About The Position

The Official Court Reporter for the U.S. District Court in Plano, TX, is responsible for providing verbatim reporting of court proceedings, ensuring accurate transcription, and maintaining compliance with court regulations. Requirements

• Must possess at least four years of prime court reporting experience or a combination of freelance and court experience.
• Must have passed the Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) Examination or an equivalent qualifying examination.
• For higher levels, additional certifications such as Registered Merit Reporter Certificate or Certified Realtime Reporter exam are required.

Nice To Haves

• Realtime certification is preferred, but candidates actively working toward it will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Attend court proceedings and provide verbatim reporting using personal equipment compatible with the court's systems.
• Produce accurate simultaneous transcription utilizing computer-aided translation.
• Read back the court record as needed and produce transcripts upon request within strict time limitations.
• File official transcripts with the Clerk of Court and maintain accurate records subject to audits.
• Respond to official correspondence and fulfill administrative duties as required.
• Adhere to the Court Reporter Management Plan and maintain compliance with judicial standards.
