Position Overview:The primary responsibility of the Officer – Emergency Response Team is to provide high-visibility uniformed presence in and around the property. The Officer – Emergency Response Team will attend briefings, use data-driven information to reduce incidents, share incident information with Officers and Management to reduce/prevent disruption, injuries, and prohibited conduct on company premises. The Officer – Emergency Response Team will respond to emergency situations as needed and take appropriate steps to prevent/solve problems and prevent/minimize company liability and perform some of the same duties as Security Officers but will receive enhanced training in tactical-response protocols and firearms. This position must demonstrate high visibility/presence, focus on reducing incidents, disruptions, and threats to the Guests, Team Members, and property. This position will work in collaboration with Security Officers already assigned to various duties and posts. While working in uniform, the Emergency Response Team will be required to: wear all equipment assigned to uniformed Officers and carry the department-issued firearm, wear the company authorized/provided ballistic vest, and wear a Body-Worn Camera (BWC). This is a safety-related position. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: May be required, and must be prepared, to change from the department-issued uniform to their own plain clothes, during a shift as needed, to work in a more low-profile support role. ERT Officers are company’s ambassadors for the Company and their interactions with Team Members, Guests, and others must adhere to guest-service standards. Investigate suspicious or unusual behavior directed toward Guests, Team Members, and Property. Respond in a tactical security role during the event of a significant incident or crisis, such as a natural disaster, active shooter, protest, or other small/large scale events. Expedite deconfliction of a potential threat, evaluate crisis or life-threatening situations, and implement or act based upon information and situation analysis. Execute emergency response and evacuation procedures, as directed. Prepare suspicious activity reports and/or security incident reports. Exercise good discretion based on available information. Direct others for their own protection and self-preservation. Demonstrate good judgment based on available information. Scope of responsibility will also include other duties, as assigned.. Additional Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure safety practices are followed and reports are completed, in a timely manner. Comply with regulatory standards, laws, and requirements of requisite agencies through appropriate systems/processes. ERT Officers are required to attend and pass additional training beyond the level provided to Security Officers such as, but not limited to, the following: firearms training/qualification, use of Simunitions, reality-based training, and simulator training. Various training courses may take place offsite and will require travel to/from the training location.
