About The Position
The Officer is responsible for protecting the life and property of the general public within the Nashville International Airport's (BNA) jurisdiction by recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions, actions, or environmental hazards. Other responsibilities include operating Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles including firefighting mechanisms and performing vehicular and pedestrian traffic control. The Nashville International Airport's Department of Public Safety is a certified agency that provides full police service as well as aircraft fire rescue and emergency medical services to airport visitors. The department adheres to all hiring, training and performance standards established by the Tennessee Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. The department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
