About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Business Services Officer I (Supervisor), the Office Technician will provide clerical support to the Procurement Office, California Medical Facility (CMF), including Business Information Systems (BIS) data input for computerized inventory systems, maintaining report logs, time keeping, typing, answering phone calls and responding to internal and external customers. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.

Requirements

  • ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications
  • obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired
  • Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
  • Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency.
  • Typing Certificate is REQUIRED and must be submitted with your Employment Application (STD.678). Applications received without an appropriate Typing Certificate will be rejected for being incomplete and will not be considered.
  • The position(s) requires the ability to type at a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
  • To obtain list eligibility for the Office Technician (Typing), before applying for the position(s), you must first take and pass the Office Technician (Typing) examination.
