Full time, day position in the Pain Management department - Farmington location. Schedule: Full time; Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm Job Summary: Provides quality nursing patient care under the supervision of medical providers and nursing leadership. Assess, plan, give and evaluate nursing care Assists the provider with patients, including the preparation of examination rooms, preparation of the patient for the visit, taking vital signs and explaining preparations to the patients Perform venipuncture, administer medications and immunizations as prescribed, assist with examinations and in-office procedures. Responsible for completion of telephone triage within the scope of practice, following up with patients as appropriate Primary contact for laboratory, procedural and clinical staffing within the practice providing patients with information and education about their conditions, results, treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices. Assist in development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, working with appropriate system personnel to assure clinical operations comply with all Joint Commission and NYS DOH requirements

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
  • Must maintain current BLS training and certification.
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Three years of recent nursing experience required.
  • In addition, the Registered Nurse is required to successfully complete the Thompson Health System orientation program during the introductory period

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Office/Clinic nursing experience, injection administration and phlebotomy skills preferred.
