About The Position
Under minimal supervision, provides senior expert professional support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic. May supervise subordinates or serve as a lead worker providing training to lower-level staff. The ITS Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the ITS Comprehensive Maintenance Contract, which requires the initiation, review, and execution of work orders and task orders. Monitors data inputs from NaviGAtor and other traffic operations software packages to determine if the system is performing incorrectly and, if necessary, deploy maintenance forces as needed. Provides customer service for ramp meter, variable speed limit sign, and changeable message sign complaints received through 511. Manages 2 engineers as well as consultants and contractors. Serves as an active member of the Configuration Control Board, which is responsible for overseeing changes and modifications to the design, configuration, operation, and maintenance Georgia NaviGAtor System. This position operates as the engineering review for statewide Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), such as NaviGAtor and ITS Comprehensive Maintenance Contract. This position serves as a liaison for local governments on all ITS programs, including providing engineering and technical support on ITS device maintenance and operations.
