About The Position

The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), which oversees over $2 billion in capital programs and projects, is responsible for capital planning, project delivery, property management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth. We are stewards of the Commonwealth’s assets, which include 61 million square feet of state buildings. As an agency, we care for the people of our state and the future of our planet. We work to expand access, opportunity, and equity to create more inclusive services, planning and outcomes for all the citizens of the Commonwealth. ​ DCAMM is a central agency in implementing several key policy priorities of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, including promoting decarbonization and climate resilience in all state facilities, identifying and facilitating opportunities to repurpose underutilized state property for housing production, and increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in public construction contracting and in the public construction workforce. DCAMM Office of Planning The Office of Planning is the strategic long-term planning and development office within DCAMM. We initiate and manage all pre-design activities for state building projects and public development initiatives. In fulfilling this function, the Planning team works closely with the institutional leadership of our client agencies, officials, stakeholder groups, and collaborative partners to prepare architectural programs, master plans, capital development plans, feasibility studies, and financial proposals.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest in public service and ability to take direction effectively
  • Experience producing site capacity studies using GIS and AutoCAD
  • Ability to integrate and analyze public datasets and building inventory databases; intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate across interdisciplinary project teams
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Revit and/or AutoCAD LT; experience with 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, or V-Ray
  • Data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in the planning, design, and implementation of projects across varying scales
  • Develop graphics, presentations, and 3D models to communicate data analysis, planning strategies, and design concepts
  • Participate in site visits and meetings with project teams and client agencies; document key discussions and prepare meeting minutes
