About The Position

Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering firm in California is hiring an Office Engineer III to support our facilities projects with LAWA. The ideal candidate will oversee detailed construction documentation, manage RFIs and submittals, and ensure adherence to engineering standards. They will facilitate communication across project teams and perform site inspections to confirm field conditions and track progress. Must have at least 15 years of experience and hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or other related field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects.
  • Demonstrable specialized experience/area of expertise.
  • Engineering and construction knowledge of all aspects of airfield airport construction.
  • Familiarity with construction management tools and software.
  • Excellent skills in document contract, documentation, and saving and monitoring inspection requests submitted by tenant/contractor.
  • Filing and reviewing of RFIs, Submittals and some knowledge of Plan Reading.
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Engineer (preferably by CA Board of Engineers) is preferred.
  • Optional Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, etc., and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification.
  • Some knowledge and experience of Airport construction (desired).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs.
  • Track, document and manage project issues and conditions, including the management of the construction Request For Information (RFI) and submittal process.
  • Provide and coordinate technical and administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
  • Perform site walks to verify field conditions and develop progress or status reports.
  • Maintain project files and logs that include correspondence, contractor invoices and progress statements, change orders as well as claims, timesheets and extra services.
  • Coordinate progress meetings with contractors, project managers and field staff; prepare agendas and record meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
