Under the direct supervision of the Operating Room Manager or designated OR Charge Nurse, the OR Control Desk Secretary is responsible for posting add-on procedures, acting as a receptionist, assisting with and running the OR desk/schedule when designated, and performing general clerical duties. This role also manages payroll functions for all Surgical Services departments and facilitates communication between patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital/nursing staff. The OR Control Desk Secretary is responsible for expediting intra- and interdepartmental services and has knowledge of the computer system, actively transcribing orders through the use of a computer sign-on as needed. All tasks are performed in compliance with established policies and procedures.
