About The Position

The Office Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide variety of secretarial, clerical and clinical support activities including: intake of patient referrals; responding to internal and external record requests; registration of patients; obtaining insurance verification and authorization; scheduling of patients; responding to patient and visitor inquiries; department maintenance and processing of discharged patient charts. Assists in the administration of cardiac testing when required. Participates in department initiatives related to performance improvement and patient satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs
  • Two years clerical or secretarial/administrative experience
  • Computer skills; word processing, database
  • Strong interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Secretarial or medical office certificate
  • Minimum of one year of clerical or secretarial/administrative experience in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
