About The Position

The Hospice Office Coordinator and CNA can be a dual-function role responsible for ensuring efficient administrative operations and providing compassionate, hands-on care to hospice patients. This position supports the interdisciplinary team by managing clerical tasks, scheduling, and documentation while also assisting patients with personal care needs under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and capable of balancing administrative duties with direct patient interaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in healthcare or completion of a one- or two-year business college program preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.
  • Successful completion of state-approved CNA training and competency evaluation.
  • Current driver’s license with reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proficiency in word processing and personal computer skills.
  • Familiarity with business machines and basic office equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of iOS operating systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of hospice or home health experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the Executive Director/Administrator, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Manage office files, supplies, and ensure an organized work environment.
  • Handle correspondence, word processing, and maintain accurate records of clinical documentation.
  • Answer and route telephone inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Coordinate scheduling for patient visits and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Perform data entry and maintain administrative and clerical files.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing (bed, sponge, shower), grooming, and hair shampooing using safe techniques.
  • Provide support and companionship to patients and families, ensuring dignity and comfort.
  • Deliver care as ordered by a physician and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards during all patient interactions.
