About The Position

Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. The Office Coordinator supervises and provides indirect care for the Cardiac Suite. The Office Coordinator oversees and performs all secretarial duties including transcribing all procedures performed by the Cardiology Suite. They are responsible for sending reports to all involved parties and recording statistics as requested. They maintain communication line for the department. The Office Coordinator participates in performance improvement and continuous improvement (CQ) activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Minimum 65 wpm typing.

Responsibilities

  • Practices regular hand hygiene and complies with standard and transmission based precautions as applicable.
  • Responds appropriately to the special needs of each group served specific to age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, development or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities.
  • Employee aids in the orientation of new employees.
  • Maintains repairs for dictating/copying equipment.
  • Completes paperwork/computer work/log books properly.
  • Oversees lunches and breaks for staff.
  • Obtains and records complete histories from patient's charts for physicians.
  • Employee is able to troubleshoot equipment as necessary.
  • Employee maintains proper recordkeeping/documentation.
  • Attends continuing education programs on-site and off-site.
  • Employee supervises and checks the work of staff.
  • Employee is qualified by experience and/or credentials to prepare performance evaluations and competency assessments of staff.
  • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with department goals and policies.
  • Supports administrative decision and changes within the department.
  • Maintains correspondence for Director.
  • Assists in maintenance of stats for C-PORT coordinator.
  • Responsible for minutes of various meetings within Division.
