About The Position

Higdon Furniture is seeking a dependable and detail oriented Office Clerk to join their growing team. This is an entry level position ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, and interested in learning office operations in a retail environment. This role supports day to day office functions including customer service and basic accounts receivable tasks and plays an important role in keeping operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous administrative and customer service experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Well organized and able to manage routine tasks
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes
  • Must be comfortable working Saturdays and some holidays
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from the office
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a thorough criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative and customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers or route calls as needed
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service at the front counter
  • Convert quotes to invoices and assist with basic billing tasks
  • Enter customer payments and assist with financing paperwork
  • Prepare accurate bank deposits and process daily transactions
  • File paperwork and maintain organized records
  • Assist with aging reports and ensure sales documentation is complete
  • Check in delivery drivers and process payments collected on deliveries
  • Perform general office support duties as needed
  • Other related duties as necessary or assigned
