About The Position

Pontiac Correctional Center is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as an Office Associate in Mental Health Services. In this role you will be responsible for keyboarding and distributing correspondence, maintaining files and records, coordinating and scheduling appointments. In addition, you will serve as receptionist, and receive, sort, open and distribute mail, official letters and incoming correspondence. The desired individual will be organized, able to multi-task, and perform duties in a high functioning office. We invite all qualified candidates to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Keyboards and distributes correspondence for Mental Health Services.
  • Maintains filing of psychiatric and psychological records and correspondence.
  • Coordinates and schedules appointments with outside consultants.
  • Serves as receptionist for Medium Security Unit (MSU), Residential Treatment Unit (RTU) and Behavioral Management Unit (BMU).
  • Receives, sorts, opens, reads and distributes mail, official letters and other incoming correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
