About The Position

The Office Assistant will be responsible for providing clerical support to the Student Wellness Team and Campus Public Safety. This includes quality interactions with students relating to their Mental Health and Basic Needs, as well as providing administrative support for the Public Safety office. This is a part-time position with up to 18 hours per week to be worked Monday through Thursday between the 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the Academic Year only.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of office experience.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, and demonstrated clerical experience.
  • Ability to work amicably and tactfully with students, staff, and the public.
  • Excellent time management skills and aptitude for proper task prioritization and a results-oriented work process.
  • Good typing skills and experience and familiarity with MS Office.
  • Strong document management skills including ability to assemble items of information, work accurately with names, numbers, codes and symbols, and maintain accurate records/files in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, answer telephone calls and emails. Provide routine information according to established procedures for walk-ins.
  • Order all departmental supplies and track inventory.
  • Communicate with students and College departments as appropriate.
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages, etc., to appropriate individuals in the departments.
  • Operate standard office machines and equipment.
  • Assist with scheduling student appointments with wellness coaches and making follow up calls and emails to students.
  • Provide calendar support for staff and departmental meetings and events.
  • Create and maintain departmental records and files.
  • Provide administrative support and tracking for the completion of the College's Annual Security Report and Clery compliance, including documentation, editing, data collection, and managing training files. Participate as a member of Clery Compliance Committee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • $20.00 per hour for up to 18 hours per week during the Academic Year. Part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
