About The Position
The CHP 180 Clerk is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and processing CHP 180 vehicle reports, which include vehicle storage, vehicle impounds, stolen vehicles, recovered vehicles, and evidence vehicles. The role involves running the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) to verify information, mailing notices to registered and legal owners, and contacting owners of recovered vehicles. The clerk will also separate, organize, and process CHP 180 forms, enter data into various systems, audit forms for accuracy, and correct errors as needed. Additionally, the position requires handling telephone inquiries, processing insurance requests, and completing monthly statistical reports. The working environment is an office setting with a business casual dress code and a fast-paced atmosphere.
