The Office Assistant II position in the Dean of Academic/Career & Technical department is responsible for performing office administrative duties to ensure the efficient operation of day-to-day activities and long-term projects. The role requires independent judgment in screening calls and addressing student issues, as well as providing guidance to departmental assistants. The assistant will support the Deans of Academic Instruction and Career Technical Instruction and collaborate regularly with other offices, including Student Services, Comptroller, Human Resources, and academic departments.

  • Perform office administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of daily activities.
  • Exercise independent judgment when screening calls and addressing student issues.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to departmental assistants.
  • Provide administrative support to the Dean of Academic Instruction and the Dean of Career Technical Instruction.
  • Collaborate with other offices including Student Services, Comptroller, Human Resources, and academic departments.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One of the following is required: Six years wage earning clerical experience OR Certification/successful completion of relevant trade school (30 credits) and two years wage earning clerical experience OR Associates Degree and one year wage earning clerical experience.
  • A copy of certificates and/or college transcripts is required with application.
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Experience using Colleague data system.
  • Experience in purchasing, including submitting/processing requisitions for supplies/equipment.
  • Full-time position with a structured work schedule.
