About The Position

The position is responsible for the daily scanning of medical records, including the daily scanning of loose medical reports into the electronic medical record. This includes retrieving records from patient care treatment areas, answering telephones, and releasing records for emergent care situations. Duties include preparing and scanning medical record documents into Quanum and performing quality reviews of documents to ensure accuracy and legibility. The role also involves making necessary edits and corrections, successfully retrieving, creating, reassigning, deleting, and processing patient information or transactions in Quanum and EPIC. Additionally, the position processes release of information requests for continued care purposes in EPIC, retrieves the paper portion of discharged patient records from units and the Emergency department daily, and operates and maintains department equipment such as copiers, scanners, microfilm readers, printers, and office computer applications. The role may require running routine computer reports when necessary and assisting other hospital staff members with the use of EPIC and Quanum when needed.
