About The Position

The Office Assistant 1, Stores/Mail position at the Central New York Psychiatric Center is an entry-level role that provides clerical and administrative support. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Candidates from outside State service may be considered under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program
  • Reachable on the current Beginning Office Assistant eligible list for competitive class appointment
  • One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law for internal candidates

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and supplies/goods
  • Packaging and processing outgoing mail
  • Maintaining files and records
  • Performing physical inventory
  • Keeping work area neat and clean
