Duties include but are not limited to: Data-basing, e-filing, managing incoming forms and outgoing releases of information, checking and distributing email inquiries, scheduling appointments, updating compliance charts, assist with preparing schedule for following day, provide backup support for New Employee Orientation responsibilities. This individual will also provide support to the office functioning as a front window receptionist, handling telephone communication, and performing miscellaneous general clerical tasks (e.g. creating new medical charts, filing, processing and delivering departmental mail, chart preparation and labeling, answering phones, posting departmental notifications, and other duties as assigned). Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal skills as well as ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely & accurate manner. Minimum Qualifications: The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), SG006 title. For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: There are no education or experience requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and familiarity of medical terminology preferred. Work Days: Schedule based on 40 hour work week.
