About The Position

This position is responsible for repairing office furniture and equipment (e.g. staplers, file cabinets, cubicle set-ups and repair, locksmith services i.e. make keys, repairs locks on cabinets and locking mechanisms). Other duties include loading and unloading trucks, moving pallets, lifting boxes, moving carts with mail and other items. Driving a small truck and/or van to other local sites to work; and occasionally making deliveries and pick-ups at the Post Office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Two (2) years of job-related experience including basic computer operations skills is required.
  • Must be able to process routine reports, and must possess and maintain a valid driver?s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Examine date machines, time stamps, electric staplers and other office machines used in tax processing to determine cause of malfunction.
  • Make repairs as needed to system furniture and customer property as directed by customer work orders.
  • Determine maintenance needs and replaces wheels of rolling stock.
  • Maintain parts inventory for use in daily repairs. Communicate parts needed to manager for ordering purposes.
  • Maintain files of documents used and prepared.
  • Maintain key inventory, key making equipment, and repairs locks as requested by customer work order.
  • Assemble customer equipment as required by work order.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
