Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • 3 years of work-related experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both professional and nonprofessional, co-workers, management personnel, and the public.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand sensitive relationships and underlying politics in client interactions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include some weekend and evening work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for your service area including managing general business operations, including billing, vendor/presenter relationships, and financial services in collaboration with the City.
  • Coordinate and participate in community outreach activities, including the coordination of presenters and programs.
  • Monitor library facility needs and coordinate maintenance and repairs of buildings, equipment, and grounds with the City and Avenu.
  • Assist Library team in implementing goals and objectives for library services.
  • Provide input to Library team members for annual budget requests and prepare quarterly and topical reports as needed.
  • Know and understand the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library.
  • Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.
  • On-site document and film scanning, including but not limited to: moving and tracking originals to/from storage and scanning areas, using scanning equipment to image loose sheets, bound books, large maps, film, and similar items.
  • Inventory tracking and indexing of original documents.
  • Duties may also include file lookups using an electronic document management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
