About The Position

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is looking for energetic, fun, organized, and caring staff to provide memorable experiences to girls in a safe and engaging Summer Camp environment! At Jockey Hollow, there are 212 pristine acres to explore and enjoy. With a large "L"-shaped swimming pool, Low Ropes Challenge Course and Zip Line, beautiful equestrian center, archery range, playing field, and adventurous hiking trails, the fun is endless! The Office Assistant supports the Business Manager. They ensure that all phone inquiries are responded to quickly, professionally, and efficiently and provide support the camp administrative staff including Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, and Program Director

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18 years of age
  • Ability to answer phone calls professionally
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Work.
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout program preferred.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain current certification of standard First Aid and CPR (training to be provided).
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Daily exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in a rustic camp environment with limited access to electricity, cell phone service and internet.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Girl Scout program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all sessions required of position at Pre-Camp Orientation
  • Ensure camp phone is always answered from 8:00am-4:30pm and check voicemail daily. Respond to all parent calls with customer service at the forefront.
  • Responsible for all aspects of camper attendance, including oversight of bus changes, early pickups, absences, unit changes, and late add-ons.
  • Manage administrative tasks such making copies, distributing and collecting unit paperwork, maintaining staff paperwork
  • Assist Program Director with program needs such as planning/maintaining program supplies.
  • Assist Business Manager with kitchen oversight.
  • Assistant Camp Director with administrative duties such as keeping unit rosters and emails up to date.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director.
