About The Position

This position is responsible for coaching an offensive position and serving as Coordinator for the entire offense. Assist in various football operations as assigned by Head Coach. Supports the Head Coach in all facets of the intercollegiate football program. This includes on-field coaching, recruiting, academic and social guidance of student-athletes, and assistance with administrative and program management tasks. Helps build a competitive program while fostering student development and compliance with University, Ivy League, and NCAA regulations. Reports to the Head Football Coach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Background as both an offensive coach and offensive coordinator at the college level is essential.
  • Candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the ability to counsel and advise players and be able to motivate recruits, players, and alumni to support the program.
  • Credentials should reflect proven competency and potential in coaching and recruiting.
  • Knowledge and compliance of NCAA and IVY League rules and regulations preferred.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as requested.
  • Valid drivers license required.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and teach sport specific skills and strategies to current student athletes at practice and competition, including preparation and video analysis of practice and competition.
  • Educate team members on proper training techniques, exercises and any sport and position specific needs.
  • Prepare and execute practice and competition plans.
  • Provide instruction and advice before, during and after competition in both group and individual settings.
  • Develop offensive playbook for program and create overall offensive game plan for each game.
  • Consistently recruit national caliber athletes for enrollment at the University through mail, phone and in-person contact.
  • Identify and properly vet prospects of strong character, academic ability, and athletic skill.
  • Evaluate recruits at competition.
  • Organize and coordinate official and unofficial visits.
  • Communicate with athletic liaison to admissions and financial aid regarding top prospect academic viability.
  • Serve as a role-model and advisor for student athletes in a general capacity.
  • Connect student-athletes to necessary resources within and outside of Penn Athletics as needed.
  • Provide a support system to all student-athletes on team.
  • Effectively work with staff members in the areas of compliance, student development, external operations, facilities/operations, equipment operations, internal operations and athletic development.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Ivy League and Penn rules and policies.
  • Assist in organizing team and coach travel, compliance paperwork, and other administrative responsibilities.
