About The Position

The Offal Attendant is primarily responsible for overseeing the operation and compliance of our offal screening, DAF, sludge production/dewatering, and chemical mixing/injection system. The role requires the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and adherence to all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• Experience with pumps, valves, and irrigation systems.
• Must be able to drive a tractor or ability to learn (good driving record and valid GA driver license required).
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience required.
• Must have the ability to work alone, use good judgment and make decisions.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates offal equipment and machinery such as tumble screens, augers, pumps, motors, dewatering equipment, compressors, chemical feed equipment, etc.
• Observes the fill level on trailers and tankers.
• Drives jockey truck to move full and empty trailers and tankers.
• Monitors mechanical waste water equipment such as meters, pumps, motors, electrical, pivots, etc.
• Measures and monitors waste water chemicals such as santiquan, polymer, and caustics.
• Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for assigned work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Works with third party drivers to coordinate the pick-up and delivery times of loaded and empty trailers and tankers.
• Bail and compact cardboard as requested.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Safety & Environmental Manager.
