At Baptist Health Walker Hospital, our mission is to improve the health and quality of life for the individuals and communities we serve. Position Summary The Police Officer is responsible for the enforcement of all federal, state and local statutes and ordinances.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Must be a full-time or reserve law enforcement officer with Jasper Police Department or Walker County Police Department
  • State of AL Law Enforcement Officer Certificate issued by the Dept of Law Enforcement as required to maintain full-time or reserve law enforcement officer status with Jasper Police Department or Walker County Police Department.

Responsibilities

  • The officer will follow all Baptist Health policies and procedures.
  • Provides for the security and protection of Baptist Health team members, guests, visitors, patients and property.
  • Responds to calls for service or emergencies, and make any required oral or written reports.
  • Assists team members, patients, guests and visitors as needed.
  • The officer will restrain unstable or combative individuals when directed, or believes the individual is about to harm himself or another.
  • Investigates incidents and complete reports in a timely, coherent, and accurate manner as required.
  • Issues trespass warnings and makes criminal arrests as required.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies and procedures.
  • Handles varying situations professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
  • The officer will be proficient in the English language with the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Able to operate a two-way radio.
  • Other duties as assigned.
