The Sourcing Manager is responsible for executing Direct Procurement Operations activities within a designated region or site, ensuring alignment with Category Management strategies. This role encompasses supplier management (including negotiation, contracting, and performance monitoring), as well as handling escalations from business stakeholders. The Sourcing Manager plays a key part in master data management, driving cost savings, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize value for Operations. Ensuring all procurement requests adhere to category guidance and comply with relevant policies, standards, and procedures is paramount. The role involves collaborating with both Procurement and Business stakeholders to understand requirements and execute the appropriate procurement process using established methodologies and tools. The Sourcing Manager also works closely with Category Management teams to address end-user needs and identify opportunities for demand aggregation and leverage. Furthermore, this position requires proficiency in business enterprise tools (e.g., SAP) and a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, including requirements documentation, analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder communication. The Sourcing Manager translates business needs into clear procurement specifications, ensuring efficient execution and high levels of internal customer service. This role contributes to identifying and delivering overall savings opportunities.

  • Execute procurement operations activities within Region or site ensuring a focus on efficiency, compliance, and the quality of customer service.
  • Understand end-user requirements as received directly or indirectly.
  • Leverage the applicable category guidance documents and procurement knowledge to determine the best method for driving value in meeting the request.
  • Execute support requests, applying continuous improvement methodologies where possible.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable policies, standards, and operating procedures to maintain the organization's right to operate.
  • Communicate the status, progress, and outcomes of procurement activities.
  • Support the creation and review of relevant purchasing documentation.
  • Maintain strong information flows back to the Category Management teams.
  • Apply the sourcing process (RfIs, RfQs, RfPs) for the delivery of sourcing activity.
  • Collaborate with relevant business support functions to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure that Direct Procurement Operations targets and metrics on customer service are delivered.
  • Support CSR initiatives related to suppliers.
  • Perform continuous professional development activities and ensure up-to-date training in processes and systems relevant to the position.
  • University degree, with a business-related degree, preferably a post-graduate business qualification.
  • Business level fluency in English as well as the primary business language of the site(s).
  • 3+ years of procurement experience with experience in basic contracting, business enterprise systems, and spot buying.
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding in supporting cost reduction and value improvement programs.
  • Experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement methodologies as well as experience in Life Sciences are a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise systems and procure to-pay tools and eSourcing tools is desired.
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated understanding of translating business requirements into procurement specifications with customer service in mind.
  • Knowledgeable in systems and processes for efficient management of contract documentation, templates and processing tools (e.g. eSourcing, eAuction).
  • Desirably professional purchasing (e.g. CIPS, ISM) or Finance related licenses or certifications.
  • Competence or fluency in other sub-region languages is strongly encouraged.
