About The Position

The ODOT Mechanic position is a full-time role focused on performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment used by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment.
  • Repair, rebuild, and/or replace major parts of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs or other related mechanical work.
  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance, including daily time sheets.
  • Order and/or pick up parts as needed.
  • Provide emergency service and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist higher-level ODOT mechanics with complex maintenance tasks.
  • Assist lower-level mechanics with routine work activities.
