About the position

Morgan Stanley's Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO), part of the WM Global Investment Office, provides portfolio management to clients of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. OCIO partners with Morgan Stanley Advisors and Consultants, across all client channels, to offer portfolio management services to both institutional and individual clientele (e.g. Foundations, Endowments, Retirement Plans, UHNW Individuals, and Family Offices). OCIO is looking for a portfolio manager to join the Endowments & Foundations client segment team. This individual should have some experience in servicing the investment portfolios of institutional clients, preferably endowments and foundations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Portfolio Manager to build and manage client portfolios for OCIO's Endowment & Foundation (E&F) clients
  • Responsible for functions such as asset allocation and manager selection as well as risk management and monitoring
  • Engage with clients to perform client discovery, draft investment policy statements, provide quarterly reporting, etc.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of administrative and operational activities, including those involving outside custodians and trading, reporting, and client cash flows
  • Partner with internal advisors and consultants to win new clients and raise new assets
  • Manage relationships with key internal partners including Branch Support, Middle Office, reporting and technology teams
  • Create institutional content such as white papers for advisors to use with clients and prospects
  • Work closely with internal business development team to create RFP Portfolio Proposals

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience servicing institutional portfolios, preferably for endowments and foundations
  • Experience and knowledge in investment/ wealth management platforms and vehicles, including managed account platforms, mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative investments
  • Experience and knowledge in global capital markets, technical expertise across asset classes preferred
  • Firm understanding of portfolio management concepts including modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management and performance attribution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Must be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability
  • FINRA Licensed: SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 required within 90 days
