About The Position

TalkNY Therapy is seeking part/full time Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists who have already graduated to provide mental health counseling to a diversified patient population using evidence-based therapy approaches. The therapist in this position will be responsible for conducting remote mental health therapy for children and adults. All direct therapy will be delivered via a virtual platform, requiring the candidate to be comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom. This position will work directly with TalkNY clients to provide mental health services/therapy covering a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, and relationships.

Requirements

• MHC-LP (or working towards MHC-LP)
• Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling
• Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance needed upon hire
• Ability to work independently as well as communicate emergency situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with various theoretical approaches

Nice To Haves

• Preferably able to work 15-20-hours weekly

Responsibilities

• Conducting remote mental health therapy for children and adults
• Complete progress notes and updated calendar within 24 hours of time of service
• Complete initial intakes, treatment plans and progress notes
• Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation
• Case management including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care
• Participate weekly in mandatory supervision
