About The Position

Pediatrics Plus is a specialized pediatric healthcare provider. We are currently looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Occupational Therapy Split Evaluator! This role provides initial therapy and developmental evaluations, treatment planning, recommendations of therapy, and treatment to children ages 0-21 years as prescribed by a physician.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be able to work with children birth to age 21 and families who are at risk.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
  • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Current, unrestricted occupational therapy license as approved by Arkansas' licensing board.
  • Current NBCOT certification

Responsibilities

  • Represent the mission and core values of Pediatrics Plus through evaluation, determining therapy needs, and development of treatment planning through a comprehensive, holistic, and functional evaluation process to incorporate collaboration with team members including the family.
  • Provide schedule for availability to site administration when requested by set deadline. Evaluation availability to be provided over at least 3 days of each week while being open to rescheduling on the remaining days.
  • Communicate through the site administration or leadership to obtain needed information when communication needs to occur with the Family Relations Team or Financial Services.
  • Review an evaluation folder within 48 hours for any additional information needed. The Therapy Split Evaluator will contact the family to obtain further information to prepare for evaluation including, but not limited to, needs for feeding evaluation, ortho evaluation, or medical history.
  • Evaluate children using appropriate assessment protocols, tools, and observations to follow funding guidelines for each particular child.
  • Communicate with family during and/or within 72 hours of the evaluation with the results of the evaluation and recommendations.
  • Complete evaluation write-up utilizing Pediatrics Plus template per funding source guidelines.
  • Develop and enter goals and objectives in deTASO
  • Enter information into First Connections CDS system (per EI funding).
  • Provide a welcoming environment for families.
  • Turn in all evaluation reports 5 business days from the initial evaluation date, along with audit forms per funding source. Any corrections are due 24 hours after a report is given back to the Therapy Split Evaluator.
  • Provide documentation of all billed services by locking and electronically signing weekly notes as well as efficiency reports.
  • Take the following initiatives when not able to meet evaluation billing minimum for a week: Seek out re-evaluations from discipline team. Request developmental re-evaluations through site administration. Assist with coverage board needs.
  • Collaborate with the primary therapist for re-evaluations regarding progress, areas of concern, treatment planning and recommendations. Communicate results of evaluation, including changes in treatment recommendations, areas qualified in, and/or discharge from services.
  • Schedule children into caseload by contacting the parent/guardian. Maintains updated schedule in practice management system.
  • Provide therapy services to children based on the recommended number of units from evaluations and prescriptions, and/or funding source approvals.
  • Provide therapy services in a variety of settings including home, daycare, schools, outpatient clinic, community, as well as other settings.
  • Complete additional paperwork requirements in an accurate and timely manner as notified by administration. These requirements include, but are not limited to: Annual re-evaluations, Six-month progress notes, Discharge summaries, Early Intervention paperwork (if needed).
  • Submit all time off requests to the Director for approval. Communicates any emergency that will affect the evaluation schedule to site administration immediately.
  • Be available to provide evaluations and other duties (such as meetings and conferences) during the days and hours stipulated in the Employee Handbook and Therapist Supplement.
  • Be available to children and families to ensure continuity of care and proper management of treatment.
  • Collaborate with administration and other disciplines to ensure quality services for children and families.
  • Participate in all required meetings for professional development and growth.
  • Participate in one-on-ones with your Leader.
  • Provide feedback to administration regarding ways to enhance continued improvement of the company.
  • Respond positively to feedback concerning job performance.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences as needed.
  • Demonstrate continued growth in therapeutic skills through learning, knowledge, and application.
