This is a 53-week program. The Occupational therapist performs evaluation and treatment of patients upon referral to relieve pain, prevent disability, develop and improve skills and restore function. This position generally requires providing service to adolescent, adult, older adult and frail elderly age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The fellow participates in a minimum of 1500 hours of supervised treatment, clinical practice, specialty practice observation and classroom/lab instruction. The fellow also develops and enhances Occupational therapy services, educational programs and/or research within the practice of Occupational therapy, a department or program, or AEHN, as per the direction of the Fellowship Coordinator.
