About The Position

Employee will provide direct patient care by continuously evaluating, developing a treatment plan, and conducting appropriate occupational therapy management to meet the individual needs of medically referred population including NICU, adult, and geriatrics in an efficient, productive manner within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and the American Occupational Therapy Association's Standards for Practice and Code of Ethics. To take all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the patients. To maintain accurate, current records on all patients according to the department's policy and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To participate in the quality improvement process and in updating programs and/or development of new programs.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care by evaluating and developing treatment plans.
  • Conduct appropriate occupational therapy management for NICU, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain accurate records according to department policies.
  • Supervise support staff and other departmental staff related to patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes and program development.
