About The Position

To enable students with disabilities to participate in and benefit from their educational programs by providing appropriate therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience: Minimum requirement of an associate degree in Occupational Therapy. Experience working with children in a school setting preferred. Licenses and Certifications American Occupation Therapy Association (AOTA) certification required. Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant License (OTA/L) required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the educational system and the role of occupational therapy for student access. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide services to students with identified needs using a variety of service delivery models as needed. Ability to use computers and related equipment including assistive technology. Ability to maintain confidential information. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The work of this class entails travel to schools, offices, and job sites throughout the Baltimore area, and frequent physical efforts in the performance of student job duties. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Eligible for membership in the Maryland State Retirement System.
