The Occupational Therapy Assistant functions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide patient care and support activities, as outlined in the patient's plan of treatment. This role involves utilizing a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the development and/or rehabilitation of patients with physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, visual-motor, and functional deficits related to Activities of Daily Living. The assistant is responsible for providing quality, cost-effective treatment to SMHCS customers, offering patient, family, and/or caregiver education, and submitting concise, accurate, and complete documentation and charges.
