Virginia Western Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under the Virginia Community College System, a statewide system of community colleges. The College operates under the policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Virginia Western Community College Local Advisory Board. Virginia Western is located on a 70-acre campus in southwest Roanoke, VA. The service region of the College includes Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. The College was established in 1966 and has grown from an initial enrollment of 1,352 to its current annual enrollment of over 9,000 students in credit courses and more than 1,400 enrollments in fast-track workforce and continuing education courses. Virginia Western, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty for our Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program in the School of Health Professions. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Virginia Western Community College, currently in the candidacy stage of accreditation and is seeking adjunct faculty to assist with delivering face-to-face curricular content to OTA students. The program admitted its first class in Fall 2025 with adjunct positions starting in the Summer semester of 2026. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching discipline and in trends in community college education. Applications will be received and considered on a continuous basis. Review of applications will begin when a need arises and will continue until needed positions are filled.
